"Nerima Animation Carnival 2010" Event Report

"Nerima Animation Carnival 2010" - a festival that's all about Anime, was held from November 20 to 21, at Toshimaen Amusement park and in the neighboring area of Toshimaen Train Station. With the help of good weather, this 4th annual event received an overwhelming number of visitors - approx. 18,000 in 2 days. Many entertainment programs such as Anime Theme Song Live Performance and Performance by Anime Characters were offered, and attracted large crowds of people. Also, popular was the Stamp Rally - many queues were seen with people waiting to receive stamps.

At El Dorado Stage, crowds of children cheered at Toei Animation Character shows including "Heart catch Pretty Cure!" and "DRAGON BALL Z KAI" along with other programs. 2 Grand-prix winners of "All Japan Anime Song Grand-Prix" - Shuhei Kita (1st year Grand-prix winner) and HIMEKA (2nd year Grand-prix winner) entertained the audience with their powerful live performances. Yoko Maekawa made her audience listened into her singing with some Anime songs from good-old-times. There was a special theater, where some of the award winning films from "Annecy International Animation Film Festival" and "Japan Media Arts Festival" were screened. The audience was amused by the innovative film expressions, and enjoyed the total new experiences.

Many people were busy taking pictures of idol singers performing at the Soleil Square. There were over 10 booths with different activities. People enjoyed playing Kick Target game at one booth. Another booth was holding a workshop where people can experience voice acting. The main booth at the center offered "Para-Para Animation Corner" where participants had a chance to receive a training directory from the members of the Association. Many children took on the challenge.
"Nerima Animation Creators Awards" award winning film "Eco Drive" was screened for the first time in public, which caught lots of attention.

Many visitors came from out of Nerima City. Some of them only found out that Nerima City was the mecca of Animation films through the festival. The 2-day-festival was a big success. Do look forward to the Nerima Animation Carnival again next year!

Screening of Grand-prix film from the 3rd annual Nerima Animation Creators Awards & the 4th annual Awards Ceremony

On November 20, 2010 the screening of "Eco Drive" (Hara Hideaki) was held along with the 4th Nerima Animation Creators Awards ceremony during the opening ceremony of Nerima Animation Carnival . (At Toshimaen Amusement Park) The film "Eco Drive" was produced by Nerima Animation Association and is based on the Grand-prix work from the 3rd annual Nerima Animation Creators Awards.
