Animation Project in Oizumi

On March 7, the 3rd annual "Animation Project in Oizumi" event was held at 4 locations in the neighboring area of Oizumi-Gakuen Station, Nerima City, Tokyo.
The event was a success with overwhelming number of people visiting under the unfortunate weather condition.


The Event was kicked off at the main location of Oizumi Elementary School with Nerima City Mayor and well-known creator, Mr. Leiji Matsumoto speaking at the opening ceremony.
In addition to the opening ceremony at the school gym, there were other venues such as Tent Booth Presentations by local companies from Nerima City in the school yard at the main location of Oizumi Elementary School.

Stamp Rally was held where people who collect 3 stamps from 3 of the 4 event locations (Oizumi Elementary School, Toei Animation, Oizumi Fuchi Chiku Park and Towa Bank) were able to exchange the stamps to a postcard. Many visitors took part in the Stamp Rally event.
Stamp Rally Exchange Location was set up at Oizumi Elementary School yard.
In the Tent Booth area, different activities were offered such as light snacks sold by local Oizumi Shopping District and the special sale of "The Galaxy Express 999 by Leiji Matsumoto" original framed stamps by Post Office.


A trial class session "Creating Para-Para Animation" took place 3 times in a class room at Oizumi Elementary School, each session was flourishingly popular. Participating parents and kids experienced creating Para-Para Manga together led by the instructor, Mr. Kazushige Yusa of Mebius Tone Corporation. Participants discovered and were amused by the work a simple set of pencil and paper is able to create, and they all worked very hard.

Visitors were able to transport easily to other locations by the free bus shuttling around the 3 locations.
At Toei Animation Location, a long queue was seen for the extremely popular "Pretty Cure Max Heart Show".


Oizumi Fuchi Chiku Park location offered food sale, along with panel exhibitions & animation academy presented by Nerima Animation Association. Kids drew pictures and expressed themselves as desired.


There were lots more activities and venues offered at the event such as screen show of "The Galaxy Express 999" - too many to see in just one day.
